What conditions does fractional Radiofrequency skin resurfacing treat?

What is it?

Fractional Radiofrequency skin resurfacing is an innovative, non-surgical skin resurfacing treatment that allows us to offer our patients rejuvenated, more youthful looking skin with minimal down time.

The treatment uses tiny pins safely deliver energy through the skin's surface.
​
This creates tiny wounds which initiates a natural healing process and accelerates the formation new, health tissue.
​
The results is an improved skin tone and texture, and lessening of the fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars.
​
Since the wounds are so small, there is significantly less downtime and the treatments are much more comfortable when compared ti traditional ablative laser resurfacing treatments.

What does the treatment feel like?
​
You will feel tiny pins on your skin followed by a little zap.
​
Your skin will then feel warm, like sunburn.
​
Will it be painful?
​
The treatment may be slightly uncomfortable, but not painful.
​
You will feel intense heat, similar to the feeling of a sunburn and your skin will look red right after the treatment.
​
For more aggressive treatment, a tropical numbing cream may be applied to reduce any discomfort.
​
How long does the treatment take?
​
The procedure normally takes between 20 - 45 minutes, depending on the size and location of the targeted area.
​
A tropical anesthetic may be applied before treatment which will increase the length of your appointment.
​
Since each individual's skin condition is unique, some people may have satisfactory results with three to four treatments, but others may require more sessions to achieve the results they seek.

What is the recovery like?
​
Your skin will be red for the first 24 hours after treatment and you may experience some mild swelling and discomfort.
​
With more aggressive treatments, there can be redness and flaking of affected skin for up to 5 days.
​
You can assume your regular skin care and make-up routine 24 hours after treatment.
​
Sun exposure is to be avoided during the healing period.
​
Is the treatment safe?
​
Yes, this procedure is considered safe for most patients.
​
Treatments use radiofrequenecy technology, which is proven to be safe and effective for all skin tones.

DO'S & DONT'S
- It is normal for the area to feel warm immediately after the procedure.
- The treated area may be flushed, red and feel tingly
- Do not wax the treated area for 3-5 days
- Do not laser the treated area for 2 weeks
- Do not exfoliate the skin for 2-3 days
- Avoid hot baths, steam rooms and massage for 24 hrs after treatment
- Avoid sun burn during the healing process of the skin for 2 weeks after treatment

- Apply SPF 30 daily

- Drink plenty of water
- A review of your progress is recommended after 12 weeks during a scheduled Follow Up appointment
